Digital Communication and Social Support

As part of the Health Psychology Lab, I contribute to a variety of studies examining computer-mediated communication (e.g., texting, social media) and its relationship to social support and wellbeing.

As a part of this research program, I contributed to an study of computer-mediated communication in long-distance and geographically close romantic relationships, which is published in the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships.

I contributed to a thematic analysis of tweets from users of crisis text lines, which is published in Internet Interventions.

Finally, I am currently assisting with a study comparing social support provision between close friends across a variety of communication mediums (texting, video calls, voice calls, and in-person support).
